Job Description: 
The Software Engineer is responsible for building new features, enhancing existing functionality, and providing ongoing support for First Advantage’s fingerprinting and background screening products. Working within a high volume and security sensitive environment, the Software Engineer will participate in the full software development lifecycle, develop and integrate components into a fully functioning system, and contribute to software verification and automated quality assurance. The role includes maintaining documentation, supporting deployments, and applying industry standards, secure coding practices, and team defined processes. This role is suited for an engineer who is comfortable working with evolving requirements, curious about emerging technologies such as AI, and willing to research and learn independently when approaching complex or unfamiliar topics.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in solutioning application enhancements by clarifying requirements, designing functionality, and evaluating technical options
  • Extend and improve full stack systems by implementing enhancements, monitoring performance, and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Develop secure and maintainable code using C#, .NET, Razor Pages, RESTful APIs, and associated libraries
  • Validate and troubleshoot RESTful services using Postman and other toolsets
  • Create and update automated tests using Playwright and related frameworks
  • Write SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access logic using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Contribute to secure and compliant cloud deployments using Azure services and standardized automation practices
  • Manage and maintain source control and CI/CD pipelines through GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • Support production releases and assist in diagnosing and resolving application issues
  • Research new technologies, frameworks, and domain topics when handling openended or complex requirements
  • Participate in educational opportunities, professional development, and knowledge sharing with teammates
  • Collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teammates and communicate clearly across technical and nontechnical groups

Required Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years handson experience developing with C#/.NET
  • Experience with Razor Pages or equivalent serverrendered web frameworks
  • 3–5 years experience working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Demonstrated competence with objectoriented design, design patterns, and multitiered architectures
  • Experience with RESTful API design, JSON, XML, and modern service communication standards
  • Exposure to Azure cloud services or similar cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of GitHub source control and CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions
  • Experience using Postman, Playwright, or equivalent tools for testing and validation
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with a methodical approach
  • Comfortable working with incomplete or evolving requirements and conducting independent research
  • AIcurious: open to using AI tools to enhance efficiency while maintaining independent problemsolving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a professional and respectful approach

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., CosmosDB, MongoDB)
  • Experience with MVC, MVVM, or similar architectural design patterns
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, VS Code, and other modern development toolsets

The salary range for this position is approximately $110,000-140,000 base annually. This range reflects our good faith estimate to pay fairly as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
